Climate-neutral by 2013

A Key Pillar of our Climate Protection Strategy

In 2008, Deutsche Bank emitted about 460,000 tons of CO2 in the framework of its business operations. Energy consumption and business and air travel were the main causes of emissions.

Climate neutrality is a key pillar of our climate protection strategy. We have set a target of reducing our global CO2 emissions by 20 percent annually compared with the 2007 reference year, and aim to put all our business operations on a climate-neutral footing from 2013 onwards.

More Energy Efficiency

We aim to achieve this by permanently improving the energy efficiency of our buildings and technical infrastructure, and by making increased use of renewable forms of energy. We will neutralize the remaining CO2 emissions by purchasing emissions certificates.
