The first manned solar flight around the world. Without fuel and without pollutants.
Solar Impulse HB-SIB is due to set off in 2013 on the first round-the-world flight of a manned solar aircraft. Without using any fuel or emitting any pollutants, it will take off and fly for several days and nights – powered solely by the sun.
With Solar Impulse, the two Swiss pioneers, Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg, aim to draw attention to the huge potential of regenerative energy sources and to set in motion nothing less than a revolution in their use. The project is intended to actively promote the new technologies, which in the long term will help our society become independent of fossil fuels, and at the same time to motivate as many people as possible to reduce their daily energy consumption. Rethinking the future. A future in which sustainability can – and will – be profitable. Deutsche Bank is convinced of that. It is supporting Solar Impulse as a main partner.
Solar Impulse highlights the commitment of Deutsche Bank as a “climate ambassador” engaging in an active dialog with clients, employees, shareholders and the general public. The joint objective is to set new standards through innovation – as a sustainable investment in the future.
