Targets, action and results

Natural resources are valuable and often scarce. For us, environmental protection does not stop at our doors. In the framework of our ISO 14001 certification we focus particularly on energy, water, waste, paper and mobility.

Energy

Each watt of continuous standby power usage costs you approximately 1.70 EUR per year. An average private household pays up to 100 EUR for standby mode each year.¹ more

Water

Water is scarce in 31 countries world-wide. By 2025 already, this number will have risen to about 50 countries with an aggregate three billion inhabitants.² more

Waste

An island of plastic rubbish is drifting in the Northern Pacific; it is estimated to be as big as Europe and consist of three million tons of plastic items.³ more

Paper

World-wide, at least 28 hectares of forest are being lost every minute – the equivalent of roughly 40 football fields.⁴ more

Mobility

By 2050, the number of cars world-wide looks set to rise from about 600 million to 1.4 to 2.7 billion.⁵more
